I have decided to create this Valentine's Day-themed artwork Long Distance Love, and it is about two lovers who are so close, yet so far from each other's embrace.
"Sometimes I just sit in front of the computer dreaming. I have food in front of me but no appetite to eat it. All because my heart misses you and my mind is dreaming about you." ― Sandra Toms
A long-distance relationship is a common setup among young people, adults, and married couples. Thanks to the technology we have today, we can still stay in touch with people we love through online means.
The artwork is actually based on my current relationship situation. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, my boyfriend and I cannot be physically together even he is just 6-hours drive away from me. We can't risk our health and vaccination won't guarantee anyone's safety these days.
You know the feeling of longing for someone and as you sleep at night you wish that you can feel your lover's warmth? That's me every single day. The worst part is, I can't do anything about it, same goes for him and we just make sure to spend time as much as we can whenever we are both free.
Being in a long-distance relationship is tough and requires a lot of hard work from both parties. You have to be able to trust your partner and honesty should come along naturally. There will be multiple times that you would have disagreements but at the end of the day, it is best to keep understanding each other no matter what.
To all the other long-distance couples out there, always remember that everything is worth it at the end despite the distance. Don't stop believing and loving your partner. Don't forget that communication is the key. All problems can be solved if you both would be open to each other and work as a team.
"The distance maybe far and wide but my heart can cover them all. The space between us is so much more but you should know that I love you so!" ― Linda Roy.
Oh before I forget, Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
